The majority of Marc’s work is with people who face losing all of their teeth. Many have suffered for years in silence, too embarrassed by the condition their teeth are in. But those who pluck up the courage to make an appointment never look back. As part of our team Marc co ordinates even the most extensive treatment plans that may involve the use of dental implants.
Most people know what a general Dentist does, but not many people really understand the amazing work that happens in the field of Clinical Dental Technology. Imagine meeting the person that no only treats you but also hand crafts your new teeth – and is with you every step of the way through treatment.
Marc is a Clinical Dental Technician. You might not have heard of that profession before, but he’s been doing it for the last 14 years. It involves dentistry, medical engineering, and artistic science – but mostly it’s about people. Essentially Marc designs and crafts new teeth that look unbelievably natural, fit perfectly and change people’s lives. He’s been making dentures and implant bridges for over 30 years now and his aim is to give each of our patients a smile they can be proud of.
Many of Marc’s patients were dental phobic and had major anxiety at the thought of even going to a dental practice. A condition that is so bad their gums are swollen and painful, all their teeth are loose but they choose to suffer in silence. Renewing smiles and rebuilding patients’ confidence has been Marc’s absolute honour for the last 14 years. Nothing gives him more satisfaction than seeing a new natural smile light up a patient’s face, and knowing it will bring happiness to their life too.
Clinical Dental Technology is his way of caring and healing people through his skills as a craftsman and his detailed knowledge of materials science. Just as important for Marc is being conscious of other people’s feelings, with an increased sense of connection to each patient that comes from the heart.
Never one to shy away from education, at the age of 29 Marc began his international studies as a student of George Brown College in Toronto, Canada, where in 2007 he achieved an Advanced Diploma in Denturism. He continued his studies in the UK where he was awarded a Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In the years that followed, Marc treated hundreds of patients who had suffered with denture problems. The care and attention he gave them during this time was acknowledged by his peers, and he was awarded Clinical Dental Technician of the Year for two years running in 2009 and 2010. Later after treating thousands of patients in 2019 Marc was the winning dental technician at the prestigious Aesthetic Dentistry Awards in the category of multiple dental implants. He is also a finalist at the 2020 Aesthetic Dentistry Awards.

The SQADC News Reel
What is the Mid Cheshire Food bank?
The Mid Cheshire Food bank is part of a nationwide network of food banks in the UK, aided by The Trussell Trust. Founded by local churches and community groups, the food bank opened in 2012 and now has 8 distribution centres. The project provides emergency food to local people in crisis which can be many reasons ranging from redundancy to an unexpected bill on a low income.
How it works.
FOOD IS DONATED
Schools, churches, businesses and individuals donate non-perishable, in-date food to a food bank. Large collections often take place as part of Harvest Festival celebrations
FOOD IS SORTED AND STORED
Volunteers sort food to check that it’s in date and pack it into boxes ready to be given to people in need. Over 40,000 people give up their time to volunteer at foodbanks.
PROFESSIONALS IDENTIFY PEOPLE IN NEED
Food banks partner with a wide range of care professionals such as doctors, health visitors, social workers and police to identify people in crisis and issue them with a food bank voucher.
CLIENTS RECEIVE FOOD
Food bank clients bring their voucher to a food bank centre where it can be redeemed for three days’ emergency food. Volunteers meet clients over a warm drink or free hot meal and are able to signpost people to agencies able to solve the longer-term problem.
We facilitate a food collection point in our practice foyer and host bimonthly fundraising evenings.
As ambassadors for The Mid Cheshire Food bank, we receive monthly emails from the organisation directly which lists which items they are in need of.
With the money raised we do a responsible food shop and take the trolley contents directly to the warehouse.
It is really rewarding to know that our efforts help individuals and families in our local area. Looking after their teeth and making sure that they eat a healthy balanced diet go hand in hand so whether you are a patient attending an appointment feel free to bring a spare tin from your food cupboard along with you. If you are a dentist attending our free events, thank us by contributing any spare change you may be carrying in your pockets… It all counts.
